A group of Christ the Redeemer young people and  adult leaders is preparing to fly 4,500 miles to Romania this summer to help build a ropes course at an adventure camp and stretch themselves spiritually at the same time.

Led by Father Tim Clayton, Allegra Smick and Peter Smick, the team is scheduled to work with the Viata program run by CTR missions partners Dana and Brandi Bates.

Student participants include  Ian Clayton, Jairen Milette, Matthew Ravichandran, Amy Thissell, Joe Sherratt and Katie Steininger.

Members of the group are continuing to raise funds for the August 7-21 trip, which is being sponsored by the CTR Executive Outreach Team. (Please note the return date is new following a change.) As of the first week in June, they needed to raise $1,000 more for the trip and hoped to raise additional funds to help defray the cost of $4,000 in materials for the ropes course.

Dana and Brandi Bates are graduates of Gordon College and have been working in Romania for 16 years, focusing their energies on the country’s teenagers.
