Women’s Ministry
Connections among women are vital to our individual and corporate growth. Connections allow healthy changes that deepen our community life. Christ the Redeemer offers a number of opportunities for the forming of strong connections — seasonal Saturday morning brunches where we share a meal and stories of God’s presence in our lives; a newer gathering among younger women called “Nests;” a Thursday morning Bible Study. Through these gathering, women’s lives can be shaped and rooted in the gospel. Meeting together then extends to compassionate service and encouragement to one another as we learn how to live within the context of our faith.

Ministry of Hospitality
Throughout the Bible, hospitality has been an attribute both of God’s people and of God himself. There are many examples of Jesus’ own hospitality, as well as the hospitality of his followers toward those around them. The hospitality we read of in the bible serves numerous purposes: the welcoming of strangers, deepening of friendships, encouragement of neighbors, building of community, forgiveness of those who have wronged us and from those we have wronged, and the reinforcement of fellowship, connections among God’s people and to God himself. In one sense, the ultimate act of hospitality is that God welcomes us into His eternal family.

Our worship through fellowship and sharing of a meal means those who labor to prepare and serve food are ministers – that is why hospitality is a ministry. The people helping in this manner are ministering to the rest of us so we might continue our worship of our Lord. Emmanuel, God with us doesn’t stop at the door of the church and our worship of Him does not have to either.
We invite the church to expand their worship by allowing others to minister to the church or by joining us as Ministers of Hospitality.

Spiritual Direction
Christ the Redeemer coordinates one-on-one spiritual direction for adult men and women who want personal, trained guidance as they seek to deepen their faith. This can be an excellent tool to help discern the gifts and talents with which God has endowed you, but can focus on many areas of spiritual growth. Additionally, the church organizes occasional seminars on the purpose and practice of spiritual direction.

Sunday Worship
Anglican worship differs from many other traditions with its sacred liturgy and expectation of significant congregational participation. Holy Communion (the Eucharist) is celebrated every Sunday. There are various other liturgical and musical elements of our worship from lighting of candles to reading scripture. Most of what we see on Sunday morning is entirely supported by volunteers. This “Sunday Worship” area of CTR’s ministry also includes those friendly faces that greet us on Sunday mornings and the whole range of behind-the-scenes activities. Volunteers help with set-up, ushering, readings, washing soiled cloths or chalices, providing rides to college students, just to name a few. These opportunities to minister are multiplied across three services with our 7:45, 9:00 and 11:00 worship gatherings and they are available to all ages.

Liturgical Arts
The Liturgical Arts Ministry strives to “capture the imagination” by creating a more aesthetic worship environment. This has been achieved through paintings, dance, fabric arts, and various other mediums. We are always looking for new, creative ideas, as well as artists to create them!

Prayer and Intercession
Christ the Redeemer’s Intercessor Ministry is dedicated to praying for our staff, vestry and finance committee as they guide our church toward “capturing the imagination of the North Shore for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” The team intercedes also for our entire parish, offering prayers of protection and guidance for all.

Christ the Redeemer also has a dedicated Health Prayer Ministry. The purpose of the Healing Prayer Ministry is to provide a group of trained prayers to intercede for the needs of those who desire divine intervention. The Healing Prayer Ministry also organizes various conferences, guest speakers and monthly healing services.
