Christ the Redeemer is a joyful yet reverent community where we seek to be people filled with the Spirit of God and responding in love to God. A full-time organist and choirmaster directs our adult choir of 25-35 people and oversees choirs for children and youth. Our reputation as a “singing” church is due in no small part to his skill in selecting and playing hymns and service music. The choir’s repertoire runs the gamut from Bach to spirituals, sung in a variety of languages (with translations). A Psalm, sung by choir or congregation, is a feature of every 11:00 AM Sunday service.

There are Choral Evensongs five times a year, a Requiem on All Souls’, and a Service of Lessons and Carols in Advent. Preaching and celebration of the Eucharist are taken very seriously; the congregation participates in the liturgy with reverence and great vigor.

Holy Week features a full program of services, including Tenebrae and the Triduum for adults and children.

The Altar Guild and Flower Guild are active on a weekly basis, while the Liturgy and Liturgical Arts committees take a longer view of the seasons of the Church Year. Others serve as Lay Readers or Lay Eucharistic Ministers.
