Who We Are

Who Is CTR?

Christ the Redeemer (CTR) opened its doors in 2009 and is a member of the Anglican Diocese in New England. The Diocese is part of the new Anglican Church in North America, a united and biblical missionary movement of Anglicans in fellowship with global Anglicanism.

We seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ, who then make more disciples for the work of planting Anglican churches throughout New England. We also work alongside other believers to plant churches in other parts of the United States and throughout the world.

Christ the Redeemer is a parish of the Anglican Church in North America, and of the Anglican Diocese in New England.

Our Core Values

Worship

Worship is perhaps the most enigmatic, ironically happy secret out there: it is not an anachronism, but rather is the most essential human need. Worship is food for our souls, touching and invigorating the core of our being. It is an act of deepest reality, acknowledging our debt and gratitude to God as we turn our attention to his majestic beauty and glory. At CTR we take worship delightfully, joyously, deadly seriously, all at once.

Grow

Following Jesus is the greatest adventure. It never ends; it requires courage; it costs but it leads us home. It is a journey into the infinite and the holy which we engage even as we live day-to-day. It is also a paradox: though we will never arrive this side of death we are nonetheless always beloved, never alone. At CTR we grow in order to be evermore formed into the image of the One who restored the imago Dei (the image of God) in us and to find our way back or, for the first time, to the path we were always meant to walk.

Care

None of us make it through life unscathed. The wounds may be different — larger or smaller, visible or hidden. Our mechanisms of coping will vary as well — some of them relatively benign but still at a cost, some of them destructive and dangerous. Jesus showed remarkable recognition of worth to each person he encountered, and he healed many. At CTR we believe he still does those beautiful things for us for others, and we try to walk with him as he does.

Outreach

It is a joy to have something to share, and those who follow the One who came down from eternity to enter time and give completely of himself always know that joy. Whether it be in sharing his story or in sharing his love in tangible ways, whether here on the North Shore, across New England, or with partners in the Church on any curve of this great globe, we at CTR participate with Jesus in his self-giving love and passionate longing for the world’s redemption.
