Adult Ministries at CTR
Christ the Redeemer offers a number of ministries aimed at helping adults to grow in their relationship with Christ, connect with each other, and deepen their involvement inside and outside the church. Below is a sampling of some of the ministries available. If you are interested in joining a specific ministry, get in touch today, and we’ll help make it happen!
Christ the Redeemer is a great place for students of all denominational backgrounds, or no denominational background, to be exposed to the Anglican experience of Christianity, especially through the sacred liturgy, by which Christians have worshipped from the earliest days.
Young Adult Ministry
CTR has a vibrant and active population of young adults in their 20s and 30s. With the complicated issues of life transitions, discerning vocations and careers, and starting a family affecting people in this age group, CTR knows that there’s a deep need for community and discipleship. Here are a few of the ways we try to meet those needs.
Weekly Bible Study
Adam Gosnell leads a group of young men, the Band of Brothers, at a home in Beverly on Monday nights. They gather for food, fellowship, discussion of the previous Sunday’s readings and sermon, and conclude with Evening Prayer.
Young adults meet roughly once a month for either social gatherings or forums/discussions.
2:42 Small Groups
Community life at Christ the Redeemer is deepened by following the model of the early church in Acts 2:42. Like them, we meet regularly in small groups to grow in relationships, in character and service, to begin to pray as a way of life, and to welcome and care for one another.
There are a number of groups, led by lay leaders that meet in homes throughout the North Shore. Some groups have a once a month frequency and some meet more than monthly to share a meal or light snacks followed by discussion and prayer. The purpose of group life is simply to do life together, finding friendship and encouragement with fellow companions in the adventure of following Jesus. As we try to live as faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ in a broken and fallen world, the community we surround ourselves with makes all the difference.
Groups are open and growing. To plug into one, simply send an email and we will do our best to find a group that works for you.
