Laurel grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and after graduating from Calvin College, lived in Texas for ten years. She and her husband Charles moved to Massachusetts in the early 90’s. They now live in Merrimac, Massachusetts and have two grown daughters who live in the Boston area. Laurel was raised in the Christian Reformed Church and attended a large evangelical church before joining CTR in 2014.
Although new to Anglicanism, she immediately found the beauty of the liturgy together with a strong gospel focus a combination that has helped her to grow spiritually. She also found CTR to a welcoming, warm community that offers a wide variety of opportunities to serve the Lord. In addition to the Vestry, she has served on the Stewardship committee, as a reader and sub-deacon. Laurel works in the medical technology field in the areas of health policy, health economics, and market access. When not working she enjoys biking, theater, reading and (watching) basketball.
